Amendments to current legislation to strengthen the liability and insurance obligation in construction sites in the interest of third parties and employees
The Minister for Justice and Reform in the Construction Sector Jonathan Attard, together with the Building and Construction Authority CEO, Jesmond Muscat, presented a number of legislative amendments that deal with various Legal Notices related to the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Act.

Publication of The Energy Performance of Buildings (Amendment) Regulations
The Energy Performance of Buildings (Amendment) Regulations, 2023, which were published on the 22nd December 2023 in part seek to provide additional clarity and detail to specific aspects outlined in the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations (S.L. 623.01).

EPC assessors increased by 30%
The Building and Construction Authority recognized the achievements of more than 150 students who completed a course in the Energy Performance Rating of Dwellings in Malta (EPRDM). The course has led these students to become assessors and therefore consult the public on energy performance in residential buildings.

Official opening of the Building and Construction Authority new offices
The Minister for Public Works and Planning Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi inaugurated the new offices of the Building and Construction Authority, the BCA in Marsa. During his speech, he explained that even though the Authority has been established for a short time, it has already done substantial work and is continuing to build on what has already been done.
