The purpose of this notification is to inform you of the changes carried out to the three Demolition, Excavation and Building Works forms of the method statements. The new forms are in line with Schedule 4, 5 and 6 of the Subsidiary Legislation 623.06 and should guide and facilitate the work of the architects when submitting all the required information. This will result in faster processing of the statements by the Authority’s reviewers.

During last year, 2023, the Building and Construction Authority Enforcement Officers conducted 10,457 inspections on construction sites. A number of these inspections were random inspections, while the remaining were inspections against a report from the public.
Demolition and excavation works will be banned from tourist areas between 15th June and 30th September 2023. This initiative which is being co-ordinated between the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) takes into account the inconvenience that construction sites have on the surrounding neighbourhood.
